A celebration of light
A child plays and waits Hearing stories of great colors Bright oranges and reds Brilliant purples and blues With heavenly yellows For the first time He sits in jubilation And is quite and waiting For loud explosions of color And the amazing spectacles of the night He waits, silent Hearing stories of the past He grows and becomes untamed A loud shot rises An explosion, and the amazing show begins He cheers in jubilation His expectations exceeded More and more, firework after firework Until the ending The spectacle that lights the night sky And instantly turns the blacks of night to day It comes, he cheers A piece of light changes him From hating all things To loving beauty and grace All in his 30 min of July 4th.
